Rotary Pressure Filter - (RPF)
Optima International's RPF filter range are motor driven cleaning equipment suitable for the separation of solid particles from liquids and fine suspended solids in liquid with varying levels of viscosity. This offers a wide range of possibilities in respect to engineering applications from fine filtration in food processing to reactors, preliminary coarse filtering upstream of distillation columns, flue gas scrubbers, pumps etc.
General function
The fluid passes through the cylindrical wedge wire filter basket with standard slots ranging from 50 micron to 3mm from the outside to the inside. The solid particles collect in the outer surface of the wedge wire filter basket and are removed continuously by a rotating cleaning device equipped with two scrapers or brushes. This enabling the pressure loss to be kept at a minimum. The filtered particles settle in the conical bottom part of the casing, from where they are removed periodically either manually. We have different size RPF filters made from stainless steel materials making it a versatile piece of equipment used in many applications.
